In this special Osmotheque™ presentation and training, world-renowned Master Perfumer and only osmocurator currently based in the United States, Christophe Laudamiel, will unlock the cabinet of curiosities made famous in the film “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” and will teach facts and quirky facts about the world of perfume magic.

With his incredible talent for discerning scents, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille was one of 18th-century France’s finest perfumers. In this fictional book and film, he becomes obsessed with capturing elusive aromas, taking his search to a deadly turn.. Follow this villain’s visceral walk through Paris on a deadly mission through scent!

10% of all proceeds will go to the preservation of original scent oils, formulas and historical ingredients as well as promoting more educational activities by the Perfume School New York and the Academy of Perfumery and Aromatics

Osmotheque: Scent-Travelling Through Time with Christophe Laudamiel.
In this class at the PerfumeSchool New York Christophe Laudamiel shares some of the most iconic and oldest perfumes, most of them disappeared, from the Osmotheque, the international fragrance archives based in Versailles, France. This is a living collection of existing or no-longer available perfumes on a mission to protect the world olfactory heritage.

Opened at the Metropolitan Museum May, 7 through Aug, 16 2015: China, Through the Looking Glass 
The catalogue contains a scent strip “Nuit de Chine” of the fragrance created in 1913 by Maurice Schaller for designer Paul Poiret. The original formula for Nuit de Chine has been preserved by the Osmotheque in Versailles, France which the Museum connected with to re-create the scent as a tie-in to the exhibition.
